Fitzroy, Melbourne

In 2004 the iconic Bullring nightclub in Melbourne’s suburb of Fitzroy closed its doors and was redeveloped into a mixed commercial building including a Coles Supermarket, commercial office suites and a multi-storey car park.

The landlord of the building recently engaged Red Flag Systems to upgrade the video surveillance CCTV system to a modern high-definition IP system. Cameras were installed throughout the multi-storey car park and commercial offices lobbies. Attention was made to monitor the entrances into the building, the car parks and the roof-top services area.

The building had been targeted by thieves, vandals and drug-users and the CCTV system that has been installed will not only provide a visual deterrent to criminals but also help promote the safety of the customers and staff that regularly use the building. The CCTV system will be monitored for suspicious activity off-site by a control room and security guards can quickly be dispatched if an incident arises.

The CCTV system has a large capacity for video storage so detailed analysis can be carried out to help identify and recognise any persons or vehicles that are involved in criminal activity at the building. And any evidence recorded from the CCTV system can easily be provided to the Police to assist in their investigations.
